Ironing the joy

OK, its Sunday night again and once upon a time I made this night my ironing night whilst watching the box. That was Just before Abby came along and I was nesting. So I am going to try it again. Obviously not tonight though. It has become routine now that once I have given the kids breakfast and I see DP wonder into the room where all the clothes are I squeeze past him, turn the iron on and proceed to pull the wrinkled shirt from the ironing pile, or worse panick when there is not a clean work shirt in the ironing pile. I tell you there is no better heart starter for the day. Yes the hardship of our lives hey. Now its not that he is incapable of ironing a shirt, and he does do it, but I like to show my love by doing this for him especially seeing that he makes his own lunch at the moment (from nothing most days) and actually has NEVER complained about anything I don't do or there being nothing decent to take for lunch. He has been known to take some bread slices and a can of beetroot. To sum up this interesting post on the topic of ironing this is one of the organisational proceedures I am going to put back into place to help put this house back in some sort of order. - Next week of course.

Returned

Well I have returned. Its been a while but realised the other day that I really need to do something about the thoughts in my head when not singing incy wincy spider or contemplating the laundry pile I have things I want to share that poor Don bless is just not that interested in. I mean I know the life and times of a stay at home mother is so interesting, who does'nt want to hear about the amount of soaking clothes I have to do each day! Yes Gwen is feeding herself and has no teeth. But really who else is proud of me for buying 2 kg of mince instead of one as it is $1.60 cheaper!
You get the picture.........
OK I will try and make it a little more interesting than that, however I do not promise I won't.
Heck, I still have not given anyone my blog address apart from my sisters - Hi Guys. Don is also studying full time so use of the computer may be a little hard, but will try and make it work.

Oh and you may be wondering how my talk back radio obsession is going? Well I have cooled off a bit - can't hear it over the kids but still have it on as honestly who does'nt love background noise that buzzes in your head when your kids are driving you spare. Still a fan of GC (Greg Carey), however do switch to ABC now and again and AM comes on before Greg. Like I said don't hear much of him these days but like listening to Dr Carole Hungerford who he has on for about 10 min on a Wednesday. Want her book Good Health in the 21st Century which is on my wish list along with the compost bin. My compost bin is breaking up, well when I say compost bin I mean big plastic plant pot - I'll take a picture.

Gardening is getting there, I have a few things on the go which I will tell you all about soon. Not that there is a heap to mention but may take a few snaps to enhance the narrative.

Mmm now crafty things accomplished since last post -
knitting - finished Dons scarf (its real bad hey)
Soap making - negative
Strawberry jam - toffee and runny, yet to get medium
Baby - Yes her name is Gwendolen and she is beautiful
Curtains - negative, have material and dye to be tye? dyed - will keep you updated
Abbys Bed - Neary done (Dons project), she sleeps with Don and I sleep with Gwen its the only way we get sleep otherwise the little tikes take turns waking each other up don't you know.
Scrap book of the girls - negative
Lets save space here, about 23 projects uncompleted, 1 project beautifully done (after the screaming and pain), 1 project (Dons scarf) badly completed.

Lets move on

Actually it is quite late and I should get to bed, very excited about being back - just broke the news to Don who I think was secretly hoping I was looking up how to keep a tidy organised house without complaining.

Yes, it has been a while hence i still have not given out my blog address to anyone. If I can make a point of posting daily/weekly over the next month I will do it.

We moved house and town in April, and has taken me forever to get my act together. Not that I have completely now......

We are renting this great big old house that is on an acre (with several acres surrounding for adjistment). We have friendly bull and cows that follow Don round the yard when he mows the lawn.

Will post some pictures but Don has the camera at work. Really wish we owned this place - at least I hope we can stay for a long time..... I hate renting.

Oh and I cannot feel my fingers and feet it is so fleezin. We cannot afford firewood for the fire and it is a very cold house very cold - all day. Actually must go and wash up to get life back into these hands.

Talk to me Greg!

Never, got back on here to write about - you know - Life after Lawsey.

I know your dying to hear my opinion. They had a fellow on, and I am embarrassed to say that at this moment I have a brain freeze and forgotton his name. He was ok though.

Now it is Greg Carey? He is all QLD which is nice. Lawsey, well he cant be replaced and he does not cut callers off with 'Idiot' or 'Was that Chad Morgan' But he doesnt do too bad. Now, I have called 4BC regarding several subjects brought up by Greg through his program. (Was too nervous to speak to John) Well I get greeted by a pleasant lady who asks why I am calling, after I have answered her with my thoughts which I try to condense into one unrecognisable paragraph that only I can decipher, she nicely says, (kind of like a air hostess would regarding putting my bag not in the way of the emergency exit thank you) what is your contact details and thanks for your call - I mean she says it so nicely and eagerly I get giddy and nervous that she is at that moment motioning to Greg that 'He has to take this call, its an exclusive, I mean what a fantastic conversationalist the ratings will sky rocket!'

Normally around 10am this happens and for the next two hours I will carry the phone around with me, not able to concentrate at the jobs at hand, without talking to Abetha in a racing voice of 'Well Greg, In my "insert original opinion here" Chatter Chatter Chatter "Well thats just what Australia thinks Greg". Until midday strikes and funnily enough he has not called me back. Which is suprising really as I thought I had a very good point/idea/argument.

I did even take to emailing him, but due to the gauntlet of mainly loosing the email just as I have finished my point - I have given up on that one.

Now, when I hear some of the nutters that get through to Greg I wonder if I am doing something wrong (apart from perhaps confusing the lady who answered the phone to me point exactly)....Any Suggestions, come on Greg - Talk to me!

Did someone say W.A.L.K

Just popping in cute pick, I sit Abetha just outside the door in the pram sometimes, whilst I am doing other things in the kitchen (as most babies probably do, she loves being outside) so I can keep an eye on her. Well as usual I was talking out loud to myself "maybe I will take you for a walk". This is what I found on my doorstep. Buddy, ready and waiting!

Job? - What Job?

Well Hello,

I know I still have not given out my blog to anyone else as I feel I have not filled it up much or put anything I think anyone would be really interested in, so bare with me (talking to self) I will put something interesting on real soon......

In the meantime I will type what has been going on in my world for the past 3 weeks. Well I took on a sales phone from home jobby didnt I! Yes, genuis Sally no problem how easy is it!
I took it on thinking 2 hours per week ok, but the damn thing has taken up all my time. Besides the fact that I am absolute Crap at sales unless I genuinly believe in it and I really have yet to find something I want someone to buy, you know because it will save their lives or something. And although it was ringing businesses, not households I thought I could do it.

Mmmm no, ok here is how it kind of went for most of my calls (if I was not hung up on)

Me: Hi Hows it going?
Victim: Who is this?
Me: Good question, My name is Sally I am ringing on behalf of blah blah blah blah
Victim: Where?
Me: Blah Blah, keep talking very fast so they cannot get a word in PAUSE How bout it then?
Victim: No
Me: Fair enough! thanks for your time though......

Yes, suprised I lasted the 3 weeks really and even more of a suprise was that I did actually get 4 sales from which I should receive $140.00.

Anyway today I quit and it was the best feeling! I danced around the kitchen and Abetha was laughing and beaming like she was relieved! I have placed 2 posters advertising my new "Ironing Service".

http://www.aussieslivingsimply.com.au/readarticle.php?article_id=9

This is the recipe I used to make my lovely bread by Forest on this fantastic website!

Hoping to get round to other things soon, received climbing beans seeds and small black pumpkins? from uncle that I want to plant. (Thinking original pumkin patch days are numbered). (Don is on about it, but rain is holding him back). I love the rain and more importantly so does Abetha.

I have taken on a work from home jobbie. Dont know how it will all go, however dont know until you try and we need the extra dough at the moment. I have only done one day (yesterday) so early days yet. So in between that, keeping um...house and tickling Abby I hope to find time to do the other stuff. Will keep posting regularly hopefully. Well had 1/2 hour sleep since 3am, so on 31/2 hour sleep I may be talking nonsense. I am waiting for bread to bake then putting jam drops in oven, if they turn out ok I will post recipe.

(edited to say, I dont put Abby in the dryer just her nappies) just in case I needed to clear that up
